Introduction

Cult Classic Reels grew out of a strong personal interest in classic Daiwa reels. As I started looking into them in more detail, I found it surprisingly difficult to do so. Useful information exists, but it is often scattered across Facebook groups, online discussions and elsewhere. On top of that, many of the finer details can only be pieced together from old catalogues and from working on the reels themselves.

As many face the same challenge, I wanted to create a place where this information could be brought together. This is how Cult Classic Reels came about. I wanted to do it properly rather than just scratch the surface and, admittedly, things got a little out of hand along the way, growing into a large collection of reels, catalogues and a far greater investment of time and money than originally intended. Hopefully, it will be useful to fellow anglers and collectors.

I have kept the site focused on sharing information rather than selling or servicing reels. Apart from the occasional reel from my own collection, I do not sell second-hand reels or parts, nor do I offer maintenance or repair services.
